We may not know when the Transformers franchise will return to the big screen, but they are set to have their anime series debut on Netflix by the end of the month. Just in, we have a new trailer for the first part of the Transformers: War for Cybertron trilogy—Siege.
It is the final hours of the devastating civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Watch the never before told stories of the Autobots vs Decepticons unfold as Optimus Prime and Megatron lead their iconic comrades to fight for their future. This war ends now.
With the recent Transformers series adapting their own special look, the War for Cybertron anime is embracing the original G1 designs of the Autobots and Decepticons. Granted there are a few changes, but the base design is all there. It's going to be interesting to watch a series that's just all robots, as I always thought the weaker part of the previous shows (and even the films) has always been the humans that have been shoehorned into the conflict.
Since this is the start of a trilogy, I'm expecting the follow-ups will be released in the coming years. Siege will be the first part, with Earthrise the title for part II. We don't know the title of Part 3 yet, but hopefully Hasbro makes an announcement soon. After all, this show is going hand in hand with the release of a new wave of toys.
