One-Punch Man is Getting a Live-Action Movie From Sony and Venom Writers

One-Punch Man is currently one of the funniest and action-packed anime out there, even with the decrease in animation quality of Season 2. The first season is seen as the standard for how a seasonal anime should look like and it's up there with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba as an incredibly beautiful animated series from Japan. It should remain in the realm of anime and manga but that might not happen since Sony is reportedly working on a live-action movie.

Reported by ComicBook.com, the movie will be scripted by the Venom writers and is going to be overseen by Avi Arad, the founder of Marvel Studios. It's an interesting team to be sure and we'll definitely watch this with close eyes, though many of us will remain skeptical. Venom was already a pretty flawed movie and the poor track record of live-action anime adaptations does not help things.

Admittedly, One-Punch Man shouldn't be impossible to adapt in live-action, as long as the visual effects are up to par. The show and manga's comedy is pretty simple so anyone with basic comic book knowledge should be able to make a solid script out of this. There's also the underlying message of being looked down on for your looks, despite your hard work so that's something we can all relate to.

Still, we'd rather they leave the anime alone. Fans are already pretty satisfied with what they see in the anime so we're fine. We do miss Studio Bones working on it though.

No release dates for the One-Punch Man movie or One-Punch Man Season 3 have been revealed.
