One Piece has definitely been one of the most popular titles in both anime and manga that it has cemented a solid fanbase for the title and with a live-action series coming up on Netflix, a lot of people are curious as to how the One Piece live-action series will be different from the anime or will it be the same?

One Piece Live-Action Series: What Will It Be About?

The whole fanbase of One Piece leapt with joy when Netflix announced in 2020 that it will be having a live-action adaptation of One Piece on the streaming platform and recently, it started with the production with Tomorrow Studios.

The show just dropped the names of the One Piece live-action cast which would be composed of Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson Mackenyu, and Taz Skylar as the Straw Hat Pirates.

The live-action series will be following the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates as they look for the fabled treasure known as the “One Piece” which would give Luffy the title of the King of the Pirates.

One Piece Anime Adaptation: How Will the Live-Action Series Be Different?

One Piece started airing in 1999 and has been well-loved since then. It mostly follows the manga series of Eiichiro Oda where it is based on. With over a thousand episodes of the anime series, the mission of the Straw Hat Pirates is basically the same as that of the live-action show with Luffy getting some powers of rubber on his body after he unintentionally ate the Devil Fruit.

Toei Animation produced the anime series and that led to the fame of the whole title. To date, the series continues with Luffy and the Straw Hat pirates gaining tons of loots and adventures together. Even the manga series is nowhere near the end, but this is where the live-action series and the anime series differ: it is highly unlikely that the live-action series would have such a long tenure.

How different do you think the live-action series and the anime would be?

Netflix’s One Piece Live-Action series is yet to have a release date.
