One Piece Film: RED has been getting a lot of updates lately and fans are finally learning a bit more about what could happen in the movie. The latest update is a new character poster and this time, it puts the focus on a mysterious new figure named Gordon who will be introduced in the anime flick.
The new character poster was shared by the official One Piece Film: RED Twitter account and it offers a better look at the mysterious Gordon. Interestingly, the tagline on his poster reads "The whole country welcomes you!!" Check out the new poster below.
So who is Gordon and what is his role in One Piece Film: RED? Gordon is set to be a completely new character who has not yet appeared in the One Piece Universe. This means that he will be making his debut in the upcoming movie. As for his role, that remains to be a major mystery. However, it is suggested that he is the one person who knows about Uta's connection to Red-Haired Shanks.
In the first official trailer for the film, it was revealed that the new female character is named Uta and that she is actually Shanks' daughter. However, nobody else knows about this except Uta and Shanks themselves. On the other hand, it looks like Gordon also knows this secret.
The film will star Mayumi Tanaka as Monkey D. Luffy, Kazuya Nakai as Roronoa Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp, Hiroaki Hirata as Sanji, Ikue Otani as Chopper, Yuriko Yamaguchi as Nico Robin, Kazuki Yao as Franky, Cho as Brook, Katsuhisa Hoki as Jimbei, and Shuichi Ikeda as Red-Haired Shanks. The voice actor for Uta has not yet been revealed.
One Piece Film: RED will be released in theaters in Japan on August 6, 2022. The international release dates have not yet been announced.
