Most of the last-minute tweaks certainly made the characters a lot more interesting. For example, Vivi's status as the princess of Alabasta explained why she felt the need to defend her kingdom. Doflamingo and Corazon's blood relations also made Corazon's betrayal more shocking. However, it is Oda's revelation about Law that could push One Piece even further.

It is difficult to imagine what the series would be like without Law. Needless to say, there have been speculations that One Piece could give the Surgeon of Death a bigger role in the future. Although Oda did not reveal how it will play out, fans believe that Law is set for a major comeback in the manga.

Oda also confessed that most of his ideas probably come from his own amazing childhood. The creator admitted that he watched up to three films every day. This could be the reason why One Piece has so many movie references.
