Olympic Star Naomi Osaka Shares Original Naruto Art by Masashi Kishimoto


The 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics featured a bunch of anime references, and many athletes have paid homage to popular anime shows like Dragon Ball, Naruto, Sailor Moon, One Piece, among others.

Olympic tennis star Naomi Osaka has shared her love for Naruto with an original sketch by the series creator himself, Masashi Kishimoto. Kishimoto, who returned to his popular shonen franchise as a writer of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, took the time to imagine Osaka as a ninja from Konohagakure.

Over on Instagram, Osaka shared the original sketch by Kishimoto showing the ninja version of herself standiing beside Naruto and Sakura. She also pointed out that her documentary on Netflix is listed beside other trending shows like Record of Ragnarok, The Seven Deadly Sins, Tokyo Revengers, and of course, Naruto.

Osaka represetned Japan in the Tokyo Summer Olympics, but she didn't just compete in her sport; she also lit the Olympic Cauldron during the opening ceremony. Even though she lost the third round of her matches, Osaka has taken her loss well, and has recently shared some personal photos on Instagram as well as her love for anime.
