Olivia Wilde Speaks Up Amidst Spider-Woman Speculations

In case you missed it, Olivia Wilde has reportedly signed a deal to direct and develop a new Marvel project that could center on Spider-Woman. Although Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have yet to make it official, the Love the Coopers star has just spoken up about the awesome news.

Wilde took to her official Twitter account to address the possibility that she will be working with Marvel and Sony. Take a look at her tweet below.

We're not surprised that Wilde is choosing not to say anything at the moment. After all, the news has not yet been confirmed by the studios. Nevertheless, fans are already reaching out to the Tron: Legacy star with their ideas on who should be cast in the upcoming project. Interestingly, most people seem to agree that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actress Daisy Ridley would be perfect to play current Spider-Woman Jessica Drew.

Wilde isn't the only name attached to the new Marvel film. Deadline also confirmed that Katie Silberman will pen the screenplay while Amy Pascal will produce the project. Rachel O'Connor was revealed to be the executive producer of the project.

It is important to point out that although Spider-Woman is believed to be the lead in the film, the premise of the movie has not yet been confirmed. There is still a possibility that the project will focus on a character that already belongs to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, unlike Spider-Woman who is still technically a Sony property. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
