Who Plays Olivia Jerome in General Hospital?
Tonja Walker is an Emmy-nominated Actress, Tony-nominated Producer, and award-winning filmmaker best known for playing Pearl Otto in My Dog the Space Traveler, Alex Olanov in the One Life to Live series, and Olivia Jerome in the ongoing soap opera General Hospital.
Walker has depicted the role of Olivia since her first introduction in 1988 as the daughter of the extended Jerome crime family. She played the character from 1988 to 1990, then only returned as Olivia in January 2017.
Now, General Hospital brings back the character after a long while, only to kill her off. What happened?

How Did Olivia Get Killed in General Hospital?
General Hospital had killed off Olivia Jerome in the most unconventional way. While villains usually get extended screen time for their dramatic ending, Olivia, unfortunately, didn't get the same treatment.
Instead, her death happened off-screen, when she was killed during a prison transport attack. Her death was merely mentioned when the Port Charles Police Department told Anna about the news.
It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that word about Olivia's death has spread in the series.
If anything, it would have made sense, considering how terrible Anna's life turned out to be, thanks to Olivia's schemes.
However, fans are still disappointed with how the character was treated in the end, given that this was the first time her name had been brought up in the series since 2017.

Is the Actress Tonja Walker Leaving the Show?
Back in 2017, a fan asked Tonja Walker on X (formerly Twitter) if she would be staying in General Hospital and eventually make her triumphant return.
Considering that fans enjoy watching one of the best villains in action on the show, it would be a shame to see the actress go. To this, Walker replied, "The writers left many doors open so I can come back. I hope it's sooner rather than later."
Keep in mind that this is not the first time Olivia is thought to be dead. She was presumed to be dead by gunshot in 1990, only to return in 2017.
The actress herself recently sparked some hope for fans even though she hadn't returned, "It wouldn't be the first time," to imply there could be an open opportunity in her future.
While it remains to be seen if we'll be watching Olivia march right back up despite the tragic news of her off-screen death, Walker remains optimistic that the show will give her another chance to come back one day.
