Oh Sae Bom delivered a heartbreaking update to his fans years after being away from the spotlight.
Unlike other Produce X 101 contestants, Oh Sae Bom has been keeping a low-key life since his appearance on the show and his solo debut.
He first garnered attention when he represented NEST in the idol survival show. However, he got eliminated afterward and ranked 69th among the trainees and idols.
A few months later, he debuted with his digital single, Tie.
Years after he last shared an update about his life, Oh Sae Bom returned and shocked fans with worrying news.

Oh Sae Bom Shares Cancer Diagnosis
On his official Instagram page, Oh Sae Bom finally broke his silence and shared the challenge he is currently facing in his life.
It turned out that he was diagnosed with malignant lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, in January. He revealed that he first noticed symptoms, including chronic fever and fatigue, last year. However, he shrugged them off and thought that he was just overworked.

But after the results came back, his doctor confirmed his diagnosis. Oh Sae Bom completed his second round of chemotherapy and assured his fans that he is not in bad condition. Still, he reportedly expects his condition to get worse in the following months or years due to his continued treatment.
According to the National Library of Medicine, Oh Sae Bom’s lymphoma has the ability to spread anywhere in his body because it is malignant. This type of cancer affects a patient’s lymphatic system, and it is curable.
Oh Sae Bom Delivers Heartfelt Message to Fans
In the same letter, Oh Sae Bom took his time to shower his supporters with love and gratitude for wishing him well.
“I couldn’t tell the people around me at the time because I was finishing the works and schedules that was already been promised and planned. It’s been a while since I’ve calmed down to rest and I’m posting this,” he said.
In the end, he promised everyone that he would do his best throughout his treatment period so he could come back soon.
