However, one actor whose many interviews over the past few months have left us scratching our heads. That actor is the wonderful Ernie Hudson, best known, of course, for playing Ghostbuster Winston Zeddemore in the movie.

In one interview, Hudson revealed that he had read an early draft of the script, and in another, he seemed to suggest that he didn't really know what was going on. Now, he has confirmed his involvement in the film.

In a recent interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Hudson, 77, spoke to Clarkson about the new film. When asked if he would be appearing, here's what he had to say:

"There will be another Ghostbusters that I can definitely say. Thanks to all the fans. They loved [Ghostbusters: Afterlife], so we'll be making another Ghostbusters. And I’m happy to say that Winston, the character that I play, is now a billionaire, so he has a little bit more freedom."

This will be music to the ears of every single Ghostbusters fan out there, as Winston Zeddemore has been a beloved character since we first met him in the original Ghostbusters (1984).

He returned for Ghostbusters II (1989), and enjoyed a prominent cameo in Afterlife. The character of Winston Zeddemore has also appeared in animated show The Real Ghostbusters (1986) and IDW's long-running comic book series.

Hudson himself has also appeared in video games such as Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed (2022), and will also be appearing in the upcoming VR game Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord (2023).

Now, Hudson is set to return to the world of Ghostbusters on the big screen in Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2, which is also dubbed Ghostbusters: Firehouse (the codename/working title), and, inexplicably, Ghostbusters 5.
