Obi-Wan Kenobi's Final Duel with Darth Maul in Star Wars Rebels Gets Live-Action Treatment

Let's face it, one of the first things that fans thought about when the Obi-Wan Kenobi series was announced was the possibility of seeing a live-action version of the epic final duel between the Jedi Master and Darth Maul. After all, the fight was one of the highlights in the third season of the animated series Star Wars Rebels. Although the action sequence has not yet been confirmed in the upcoming Disney+ show, a new fan art has depicted what it would look like in live-action.

The fan art was created by digital artist phase_runner and has been shared on Instagram. You can check it out below.

This is an awesome depiction of what Ewan McGregor could look like when he finally faces off against Ray Park's Maul yet again. Although it is still unclear if Park will actually show up in the Obi-Wan series after his recent scandal, we're really hoping to see the duel between Kenobi and Maul in the future.

The final duel between Obi-Wan and Maul took place in the Star Wars Rebels Season 3 episode Twin Suns where the latter travelled to Tatooine to take revenge on the Jedi Master. Instead of launching into an attack right away, Maul and Obi-Wan conversed and the former Sith Lord sensed that his nemesis was trying to protect someone on the planet. This leads to a brief yet satisfying fight that concluded with Obi-Wan admitting he is watching over the Chosen One.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
