A lot of fans have been excited to see the return of Ewan McGregor as the titular Jedi 17 years after he last played him in Revenge of the Sith. Of course, a lot of us are hopeful that the series will deliver and be a satisfying follow-up to the prequel trilogy. Before the series became available on Disney+, the first 2 episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi premiered first during the Star Wars Celebrant event where the attendees had a chance to watch them on the big screen and with a crowded audience. It was also the first time that the public was able to see the series as they were not screened in advance for the critics. As a result, the reviews only became available around the same time as the series premiered.

Based on the reviews so far, the first 2 episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are receiving mostly positive responses from the critics and the journalists who watched it during the event and at home as well. A lot of them are praising the visuals, story, character moments, Ewan McGregor's performance, and Deborah Chow's direction.
