After years of waiting, the first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi finally arrived on Disney+. A lot of fans have been excited to see the return of Ewan McGregor as the titular Jedi 17 years after he last played him in Revenge of the Sith. Of course, a lot of us are hopeful that the series will deliver and be a satisfying follow-up to the prequel trilogy. At the same time as the series premiered, the reviews have also arrived for the highly-anticipated new chapter in the galaxy far, far away.
Before the series became available on Disney+, the first 2 episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi premiered first during the Star Wars Celebrant event where the attendees had a chance to watch them on the big screen and with a crowded audience. It was also the first time that the public was able to see the series as they were not screened in advance for the critics. As a result, the reviews only became available around the same time as the series premiered.
Based on the reviews so far, the first 2 episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are receiving mostly positive responses from the critics and the journalists who watched it during the event and at home as well. A lot of them are praising the visuals, story, character moments, Ewan McGregor's performance, and Deborah Chow's direction.

It looks like the series did deliver on its first 2 episodes according to these reviews which is good news for fans who have been looking forward to the series and are anxious to see if it will be a satisfying new entry in the franchise. This should entice people to check out the series if they are still not convinced yet.
Of course, the pulse might change in the next few weeks once the other episodes air and it would be curious to see if the quality will remain consistent until the end. Reviews are also subjective so you might also have a different opinion from the ones above.
The third episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi will release this Wednesday on Disney+.
