Obi-Wan Kenobi: Grand Inquisitor Actor Addresses Role in Star Wars Series

We're only a month away from the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi and the entire Star Wars fandom is beyond ready to witness the "rematch of the century" between Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) and Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen). We already saw a glimpse of the villain in the teaser trailer and to call him menacing is quite an understatement. Now, Rupert is finally breaking his silence on his Star Wars role and the lengths he goes to just to become a formidable villain.

It may not look it like at first, but Rupert's entire face is actually covered in prosthetics and according to him isn't the most pleasant experience in the world. Speaking with Digital Spy, the British actor even went as far as saying that he feels like a miserable clown whenever his prosthetics get removed.

He said: "It was a sweaty, sweaty suit, and I did sweat buckets inside the prosthetics, which would pour across my face at the end of a day and make me look like a very, very miserable clown…but so worth it!"

Friend also shared his excitement over joining the storied science-fiction franchise: "It’s amazing. They have literally built a universe over the years, and the incredible thing about is the relationship between the stories and the fans is completely interlaced – they are as connected with those stories as those of us who make it, and you really feel like you’re in dialogue as you do it... It’s an amazing thing to be a part of."

Judging by the official trailer which dropped last month, it would be safe to assume that Grand Inquisitor and the entirety of the Inquisitorius for that matter will be playing hefty roles in the show.

The first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on May 27th, exclusively on Disney+.
