Song Hye Kyo is set to return to small screens through her upcoming comeback drama titled Now, We Are Breaking Up. Most, if not all, fans know that the 39-year-old South Korean actress went on a temporary hiatus after the success of the 2018 romantic melodrama Encounter, which also starred Park Bo Gum.

To keep avid followers of Song Hye Kyo on their toes with all the thrill and excitement, here are some of the most important details about the imminent Now, We Are Breaking Up series, including its release date, cast and storyline.

Now, We Are Breaking UpRelease Date

As of this writing, SBS has not yet announced an official release date for Now, We Are Breaking Up. However, there have been reports claiming that it is likely to premiere in the second half of 2021 and will air every Friday and Saturday on SBS TV at 10:00 p.m. KST.

Filming for the imminent SBS drama series kicked off in April in Seoul. On July 26, Song Hye Kyo shared a black-and-white photo of herself, alongside her new leading man Jang Ki Yong, which suggests that they are still shooting their new K-drama project together.

Now, We Are Breaking UpStoryline

The forthcoming new K-drama series centers on the story of a design team leader named Ha Young Eun (Song Hye Kyo), who is a cold-hearted realist and a woman who prioritizes stability over anything else. Not only that because she is also self-disciplined, beautiful, smart and is very sensitive to trends.

Moreover, Ha Young Eun is the daughter of Kang Jung Ja and Ha Taek So. She is also a close pal of Jeon Mi Sook and Hwang Chi Sook.

Song Hye Kyo's character would, then, meet a popular freelance fashion photographer named Yoo Jae Kook (Jang Ki Young), who is intelligent, handsome and rich.

It remains to be seen, however, how this dreamlike story of love and breakup will unfold in Now, We Are Breaking Up.

Aside from Song Hye Kyo and Jang Ki Young, other personalities confirmed to appear in the upcoming Now, We Are Breaking Up series include Choi Hee Seo as Hwang Chi Sook, Kim Joo Hun as Seok Do Hoon, Nam Gi Ae as Kang Jung Ja, Yura as Hye Rin and Choi Hong Il as Hae Taek Soo, Song Yoo Hyun as Oh In A, Lee Joo Myoung as Nam Na Ri, Yoon Na Moo as Gwak Soo Ho and Yun Jung Hee as Shin Yoo Jung.

EXO member Sehun is also said to join the cast as a new designer, which means he is very much likely to work with Song Hye Kyo's character. Joo Jin Mo, Cha Hwa Yeon and Jang Hyuk Jin are also portraying the roles of CEO Hwang, Min Hye Ok and Go Gwang Soo, respectively.

Now, We Are Breaking UpEpisode Count and Running Time

The forthcoming Song Hye Kyo-led K-drama is said to have a total of 16 episodes. Each episode will run for 70 minutes.

The new South Korean romantic drama television series is directed by Lee Gil Bok and written by Je In. Ahn Je Hyun, Shin Sang Yoon and Jeong Cheol Seung are the producers.

To recall, Huayi Brother announced that Soo Ae has been offered to lead the drama on June 23, 2020. Though she initially considered the proposal, the actress eventually declined the offer.

United Artist Agency, then, announced in November 2020 that Song Hye Kyo is considering to appear in Now, We Are Breaking Up as its protagonist.
