Noah Centineo Confirms That He's Playing He-Man for Sony's Masters of the Universe Movie

It seems like the long-awaited Masters of the Universe movie is making some solid progress since Noah Centineo, who was reported to have signed on to the film, has confirmed that he will, indeed, be He-Man. The actor confirmed that he would be playing the iconic trunks-clad hero for the film, whenever that is coming out.

Centineo confirmed the news on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon while promoting his most recent film, Perfect Date. The actor reveals that he is excited about the franchise and is hyped to play the role, while also bringing up his underwear model days. Many consider the original cartoon to be a guilty pleasure these days so a modern day interpretation of this franchise could have a lot of people talking.

"Yes, Yeah yeah yeah yeah. Masters of the Universe! I have an affinity for being in my underwear. Thank you. Thank you so much. I'm very excited. It's a great opportunity."

Little else is known about the upcoming Masters of the Universe film. David S. Goyer was originally going to direct the film but backed out, though his script will still be used for the film. Hopefully, it will be better than the 1987 movie that failed to live up to anyone's expectations so it doesn't have an uphill battle to go through.

Masters of the Universe does not have a release date.
