No Time to Die Producer Says Search for New James Bond Isn't Happening Soon

It's no secret that No Time To Die is going to be Daniel Craig's final outing as 007. But when can we expect to meet the next James Bond? Barbara Broccoli has revealed that they aren't exactly rushing to replace Craig just yet. Instead, they will be waiting a little longer before searching for the new 007.

Broccoli is a long-time Bond producer so she's mostly in control of the franchise's direction. It's also evident that she isn't quite ready to let go of Craig just yet.

Broccoli joked that she's still "in denial" about Craig leaving the franchise in an interview with BBC Radio 4's Today program.

"We want Daniel to have his time of celebration," she said. Broccoli then revealed when they will start looking for the next Bond. "Next year we'll start thinking about the future."

It's no surprise that the franchise is taking its time before moving forward with the next 007. No Time To Die had to be pushed back several times due to COVID-19 before its current release date. It's understandable that the producers want to take it slow but we're also eager to find out who will be the new James Bond.

No Time To Die will bring back Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear, and Ralph Fiennes. New cast members include Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, and David Dencik. The film, which is officially James Bond 25, will hit theaters on October 8, 2021.
