No, Hulk Isn’t Afraid Of Thanos In Avengers: Infinity War

Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) might have constantly refused to come out in Avengers: Infinity War after getting beat up by Thanos during the early part of the movie, but that doesn't mean the Greatest Avenger is afraid of the Marvel Cinematic Universe'sMad Titan. Instead, according to the Infinity War team, the main reason why Hulk refuses to come out and help Bruce Banner is because of a feud he has with his human counterpart.

Avengers: Infinity War just rolled out in digital HD this week, and in the commentary track of the home release (via ComicBook.com) fans get to see the film's writers and directors explain the real reason why Bruce Banner can't turn into Hulk during the film.

"Here we see the beginnings of Bruce's issues," writer Christopher Markus said when Bruce first failed to turn into the green guy in the movie.

Though fans might have believed that Hulk's refusal to cooperate was held by the fear that he'd meet Thanos again, co-director Joe Russo explains that Hulk just doesn't want to play Bruce Banner's hero anymore.

"People speculated whether there was some fear on the Hulk's part about having to face Thanos again but I think ultimately what it is is that he's tired of playing hero to Bruce Banner," the director said.

The only question left is whether or not Bruce will be able to resolve his issues with the Hulk later on in Avengers 4. Bruce is definitely going to need Hulk's help if he and the rest of the remaining of Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy face Thanos again. Bringing half the universe back isn't going to be easy, and the team is going to need all the help they can get.

Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
