Night King Actor Shares Swordfight Rehearsal Video for The Witcher

Vladimir Furdik is best known for his work as the Night King in Game of Thrones, but he's also a veteran stuntman who is the sword/fight master in Netflix's The Witcher. With the show just debuting last weekend, Furdik has shared a BTS video of him rehearsing an action sequence.

Check it out:

Looking into Furdik's filmography, you'll notice that he focuses mostly on stunts, and the Night King is his most recognizable role (I mean, apart from the fact that he has to wear a lot of makeup). What's interesting though is that he played a character named Andrzej in Sherlock Holmes 2; the author of The Witcher is named Andrzej Sapkowski. Now isn't that a fun coincidence.

Admittedly The Witcher can come off as kind of campy, but it absolutely soars in all other elements. The show looks amazing, and the production value is top-notch, from action to CGI. Henry Cavill is also fantastically cast as Geralt, and some of the cornier lines manage to work because of his delivery. I also think Anya Chalotra makes for a great Yennefer.

Despite some lack of enthusiasm from critics, Netflix is confident with The Witcher and has already greenlit the show for a second season. Let's just hope that they manage to improve on the dialogue by then because I cannot stand how many times "destiny" is said throughout the show.

Catch The Witcher now streaming on Netflix.
