Now that a new Batverse is finally on board, featuring Robert Pattinson as the new Bruce Wayne, a whole new Batman universe could introduce a lot of storylines and characters along the way.

We already knew that Warner Bros. and DC are investing a lot of energy in Matt Reeves' new reboot of the iconic caped vigilante. While we don't have any further details yet about The Batman sequel, two spinoffs are already confirmed for the streaming service, HBO Max. One focused on Colin Farrell's The Penguin as now the mastermind for the Gotham Criminal elite, and one initially focused on the Gotham Police Department but was scrapped and developed into an Arkham Asylum storyline.

With Matt Reeves introducing three villains in The Batman, which includes Paul Dano's The Riddler, Colin Farrell's The Penguin, and Barry Keoghan's cameo as Joker, Reeves can still develop some new villains from the comic books.

One Hollywood icon who expressed interest in playing as a villain is Ghost Rider star, Nicolas Cage.

In an interview with Fox 7 Austin at SXSW 2022, Cage was questioned if there is any role that the actor would like to play in his acting-career bucket list. Cage instantly responded by bringing his desire to join Reeves' Batman universe and wanted to play the DC Comics villain, EggHead.

Cage responded, "Here's something, I've been thinking about this, because we have this new, Robert Pattinson as the Batman, which I haven't seen it yet, but I think he would be terrific, the villain that Vincent Price played on the '60s show, Egghead. I think I want to have a go at Egghead. I think I could make him absolutely terrifying. And I have a concept for Egghead. So let them know over at Warner Bros. I'm down for Egghead."

While Egghead isn't usually someone you think of when talking about iconic Batman villains, looks like Cage had a fascination with the character. Seeing a grounded portrayal and a darker version of Egghead in live-action would be really interesting especially if it's portrayed by A-list actor, Nicolas Cage.

Egghead's first live-action portrayal was in Adam West's Batman '66 Series where he was portrayed by Vincent Price. Egghead is a highly-intelligent criminal mastermind who has a weird obsession with eggs. Though Egghead didn't have many appearances both in DC Comics and live-action, he appears to be a side character in multiple issues in the Comics and his last appearance in live-action was in Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

It may sound ridiculous to introduce Egghead in Matt Reeves' new Batman universe, Reeves could easily craft a darker version of the obscure villain. Whether Nicolas Cage will be joining the new reboot soon is still unknown but if Reeves catches Cage's statement, further development could happen.

is still showing in theaters worldwide.
