In case you missed it, there is going to be a movie about the fictional life of Nicolas Cage where the actor himself will be played by none other than Nicolas Cage. But what exactly can we expect from The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent? Cage explained that it's going to be just as crazy as we think it is.
Cage recently spoke to Empire about the upcoming project, which will follow a fictionalized version of himself who gets caught up in the world of crime. Not surprisingly, the Leaving Las Vegas star admitted that it does get a little confusing at times.
"It's a stylised version of me, and the fact I even have to refer to myself in the third person makes me extremely uncomfortable," Cage said. He then went on to reveal a little bit of what will happen in Massive Talent.
"There are many scenes in the movie where modern or contemporary – here we go – ‘Nic Cage' and then young ‘Nic Cage' are colliding and arguing and battling it out. It's an acrobatic approach to acting," he said.
Playing yourself might sound easy but Cage confessed that he needs to do some research on his new film.
"I'm probably going to have to look at a couple of the movies from the past again, because I think we're gonna have to reenact some of those sequences. It's like walking through a Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari version of Con Air and Face/Off," Cage concluded.
I don't know about you but this movie sounds like a truly entertaining project that was perfectly made for Cage. Needless to say, we can't wait to see the film soon.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
