Nick Offerman Open to Working on Marvel or Star Wars Film with Taika Waititi

It seems like any actor would jump at the chance to join a major franchise like Star Wars or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Nick Offerman has certain expectations if he will ever work on a big-budget film. The Parks and Recreation star just admitted he'll only do it if Jojo Rabbit director Taika Waititi is involved.

Offerman recently spoke to Men's Health about his new series Devs and he was asked if he is interested in working with big studios. Not surprisingly, the Good Omens actor confirmed that he is hesitant about the idea.

"I think there are those big franchises—Marvel or Star Wars or whatever—I think those all hold within them examples of wonderful, great creativity, and also examples of less good material," Offerman said. However, he also revealed that he would do it if it meant working with Waititi.

"Depending on what they brought to me, and where I was, and what I had available? If Taika Waititi's name is involved, then I will come running," Offerman said.

We're not exactly surprised that Offerman is interested in working on a project with Waititi. After all, the filmmaker has already proven he is capable of writing and directing excellent projects for Star Wars and Marvel. For now, we'll have to wait if Offerman gets an offer he couldn't resist.

A new episode of Offerman's new series Devs airs on Hulu every Thursday. Waititi is expected to begin working on Thor: Love and Thunder after the COVID-19 quarantine.
