Nick Fury’s Next MCU Appearance Could Be Sooner Than You Think

It may be expected that Nicholas Joseph Fury, better known as Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), won't be appearing any time soon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, a new rumor suggests otherwise.

The last time we saw Fury was in Avengers: Age of Ultron creating order to the otherwise confused band of superheroes. Well the new rumor suggests that Nick Fury could join the MCU again in Thor: Ragnarok in 2017.

The new speculation comes as Samuel L. Jackson has been spotted in Australia's Gold Coast for the filming of Kong: Skull Island.

According to Gold Coast Bulletin, the 67-year-old actor could be appearing in the 2017 Marvel film since Thor: Ragnarok's pre-production will kick off in Australia's Gold Coast right after Kong: Skull Island is finished filming. The publication said that Marvel Studios' "artistic, creative, and technical crew" has already moved into the emptied sound stages of Kong: Skull Island on Valentine's Day.

It's also worth noting that Jackson is co-starring with Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in Age of Ultron, in Kong: Skull Island. This means that the British actor could be attempting to convince Jackson to appear in the Thor: Ragnarok.

It's certainly a long shot for Nick Fury to appear in Captain America: Civil War. The film is already chock full of superheroes and adding Fury would further cut short other characters' screen time. If that's the case, then this new rumor is plausible and I'm curious how he'll play into Thor: Ragnarok.

Penned by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost and directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok lead cast include Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Jaimie Alexander (Sif), most probably Cate Blanchett and Idris Elba, and Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk).

The movie will be released in theaters on November 3, 2017.
