We know that Star Wars Battlefront II is primed for an update, and it's going to be coming next week. Thanks to community manager Ben Walke, we'll know exactly when it drops.

Walke just announced on Twitter that the next update will be coming on Thursday, January 30. Here's the post:

The main parts of the update include new playable heroes BB-8 and BB-9E. While we haven't gotten official descriptions for the characters yet, we do know a little about their play-style; it's said that BB-8 plays more offensively with 9E playing support. It's also been confirmed that the droids will move fast, with speed close to a droideka.

Besides the new heroes, we'll also be getting Capital Supremacy maps for Jakku, Takodana, Ajan Kloss, and Felucia. We know how the ground battle is going to play out thanks to Co-Op mode, but CS will be giving us new interiors in the form of Capital ships for the First Order and the Resistance.

With the prequels dominating CS, I guess the only era that will be missing from the update will be the Original Trilogy. We have yet to get any CS or Co-Op maps for the OT, but hopefully DICE will start work on it soon, granted that the Sequel Trilogy is over, and we have just gotten years of Clone Wars content.

The next DLC for Star Wars Battlefront II arrives on Jan. 30. The game is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
