New Trailer for LEGO Movie 2 Reveals Chris Pratt’s Other Character

As promised, WB has dropped a new trailer for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, and it gives us a look at returning and new characters.

I'll admit, though the trailer does have a lot of new shots and jokes, it pretty much feels like the same reveals from the first film. We know that there's going to be some kind of DUPLO invasion, and we're going to be looking at a different world where the little sister (from ‘reality') is the one playing with the LEGOS.

If anything, the biggest reveal of the trailer was the new character in the form of Rex Dangervest. The character is also voiced by Chris Pratt (who voices protagonist Emmet) and he seems to be a parody of all of Pratt's biggest roles— Galaxy defender (Guardians of the Galaxy), Cowboy (The Magnificent Seven), and Raptor Trainer (Jurassic World). I don't know what role Pratt got that made him an archeologist, but a lot of fans have wanted him to take over the Indiana Jones franchise when a new movie was announced; maybe the joke was a reference to that.

"The LEGO® Movie 2: The Second Part," reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all-new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It's been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.

The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman, and their friends to far away, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.

Catch The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part in theaters Feb. 8, 2019.
