The new Greek mythology-inspired Magic: The Gathering set Theros Beyond Death will be out in a few weeks, and today Wizards of the Coast has revealed more cards from it, including "Nylea, the Sharp-eyed", "Thirst for Meaning", "Wrath of Storm", and "Chained Guardian". The company also partly revealed "Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded" but it will be fully revealed later today.
Can anyone take a guess what this does?
Check out the fully revealed Theros Beyond Death cards below:
Nylea, the Sharp-eyed
Indestructible
As long as your devotion to green is less than five, Nylea ~ is not a creature.
Creature spells you cast cost 1 less to cast.
: Reveal the top card of your library. If it's a creature card, put it into your hand. Otherwise, you may put it into your graveyard.
With its Indestructibility and ability to make creature spells cost 1 less to play, this could be a solid sideboard card against control, Nylea can help you gain card advantage with its activated ability.
Thirst for Meaning
This card is a good common in Limited format, and it lets you put cards to your graveyard to help you use the Escape mechanic.
Wrath of Storm
Wrath of Storm deals 4 damage to each creature and planeswalker.
This card reminds me of "Languish" but better against Planeswalkers since it can hit them. It will at least be playable in Standard format.
Chained Guardian
Trample
Chained guardian can't attack unless you control another creature with power 4 or greater.
This card will probably see play in aggressive red/green beatdown decks with "Klothys, God of Destiny".
