Showtime recently confirmed the development of the horror-comedy series The Auteur, directed by Oscar winner Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit), who will also write with Peter Warren (Ghost Team), and starring Jude Law. Amy Israel, Showtime's EVP, Scripted Programming said this in a statement:

Waititi is set to direct the show's pilot episode. They haven't yet announced who will direct the followup episodes, but the premise sounds exciting, and it kind of reminds me of Sion Sono's Japanese film, Why Don't You Play in Hell?.
