New Poster for Alita: Battle Angel, Junkie XL to Provide the Score

Besides working on Avatar, James Cameron has a lot of side projects like the Terminator reboot/sequel as well as Alita: Battle Angel. The film gets this sick new poster, and Junkie XL a.k.a. Tom Holkenborg has confirmed that he'll be providing the score for the movie.

Check it out:

Junkie XL has provided music for films like Deadpool and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He was also the original composer for Justice League before Joss Whedon had Danny Elfman come aboard. With his track record, I'm sure Alita is going to be in safe hands—musically, anyway.

Holkenborg also had this to say about working Rodriguez and Cameron:

Both Robert & James are two of my cinematic heroes. To be able to work with them both on such a visionary project as Alita has been unbelievable. They both want to push the envelope and encouraged me to do the same with the score.

No doubt a lot of DC fans still want to know what Junkie XL's score for Justice League was, but for now, we can just look forward to his upcoming projects.

Alita: Battle Angel is based on the manga GUNM or Battle Angel Alita by Yukito Kishiro. Rosa Salazar is playing the title role of Alita, and the rest of the cast is undoubtedly star-studded. Working on the film are actors like Christoph Walts, Mahershala Ali, Jackie Earle Haley, Jennifer Connelly, and Ed Skrein.

Originally set to come out this December, Alita: Battle Angel is now aiming for a release on Feb. 12, 2019.
