Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight is just almost a month away from its release and is set to have a different debut of Marvel’s most complicated hero and his complex origin story that will also discuss his source of power, Ancient God of The Moon, Khonshu.
Isaac’s Mark Spector will debut as Moon Knight in March. In the Comics, he gained his immense abilities from an ancient God of The Moon, Khonshu. Moon Knight’s plot in the Comics has been very complicated as the two continuously solve their issues. Spector doubts his divine savior multiple times but only finds himself subservient to Khonshu’s will. Spector also has a dissociative identity disorder and Marvel sets the Moon Knight TV series to have a psychological thriller genre.
Khonshu will be a key character in the series as he is the source of Spector’s abilities. Last week, Academy Award nominee F. Murray Abraham was announced to play the role. He will be the voice of the Egyptian God.
Today, new still images surfaced online and we finally have a first look at Khonshu.
Though Khonshu is a God in Marvel Comics, seems like he will have a sinister appearance in the MCU. From the first look, he looks like a mysterious ghost entity, with leathers floating around his body.
In the Comics storyline of the Moon Knight, Spector was found dead in Khonshu’s tomb and was resurrected by the God of The Moon. But this resurrection comes at a high price, Spector now becomes a pawn to whatever Khonshu demands. Khonshu gave Moon Knight immense abilities but also controls Spector’s body that making everything more complicated aside from his dissociate identity disorder.
In the Comics, Khonshu and Spector’s relationship became increasingly complex as Khonshu’s own quest for power and control over Spector’s body.
In Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight, we are sure that Khonshu will also be a key character for Mark Spector as he discovers his Moon Knight persona. In the trailer, we saw a distressed Spector unraveling the secrets to his disorder and Moon Knight’s powers. Ethan Hawke will also play the main villain for the series.
Marvel’s Moon Knight will premier on Disney+ on March 30, 2022.
