New Magic: The Gathering Planeswalker From Core Set 2021 & More Leaks Revealed

The official previews for Magic: The Gathering Core Set 2021 may have been delayed by one day, but fans are already getting a look at what appears to be cards from the upcoming set. Earlier today, we reported about a leak of reprints and a new Chandra card; and today, more leaks have revealed a new planeswalker, a legendary vampire cleric, and a couple more cards that appears to be from Core Set 2021.

Rosewater previously teased a brand new planeswalker coming to Core Set 2021, and it looks like we have our first look of the card now. A recent photo leak reveals a card named Basri Ket, a three-to-cast white planeswalker card perfect for creature token strategies. Check it out:

Here's what Basri Ket does, accoding to the leak image:

Basri Ket
Mana Cost: 1WW

+1: Put a +1+1 counter on upto one target creature. It gains indestructible until end of turn.

-2: Whenever one or more nontoken creatures attack this turn, create that many 1/1 white Soldier creature tokens that are tapped and attacking.

-6: You get an emblem with: "At the beginning of combat on your turn, create a 1/1 white Soldier creature token, then get a +1+1 counter on each creature you control.

Loyalty: 3

Rosewater said that the new planeswalker comes from a plane we've already visited, and it appears that plane is Amonkhet, based on the background of the art featured in this card. This card will most likely see play in competitive Standard, and we expect to see more token enablers from Core Set 2021.

Vito would remind you of the enchantment card Sanguine Bond but in creature form. Basri's Acolyte will probably see play in the same builds that use the Basri planeswalker card. The Demonic Embrace looks like an obnoxious card to deal with in Limited formats, but I doubt it will see play in competitive Standard.
