New Look at Live-Action Teen Titans’ Robin; Synopsis Revealed

DC is set to launch their own streaming service, and along with it is a bunch of exclusive content—one of which is a livea-action Teen Titans show. Now we have a new look at Brenton Thwaites as Robin and we also have a new synopsis to give us more backstory on the characters.

Here's the new synopsis:

Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.

While I wasn't really impressed at the first reveal for Robin, I think his new look here is actually better. The first image never really gave us an idea of the armor that he was wearing, and the rest of the outfit just seems practical.

There are some images floating around online of Thwaites' co-stars as other characters like Starfire, Beast Boy, and Raven, but they have only been leaked set photos. In fact, a lot of anger has been cast on the looks of the characters (particularly Starfire), and we have yet to get officially released images from DC.

With the success of shows like The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl, I have no doubt that this live-action version of the Titans will find its audience as well. It does have to live up to the reputation of the animated series, but we'll just have to wait and see what's in store for this live-action version of the heroes.

Titans will be released alongside DC's streaming service which aims to launch this fall.
