New Live-Action Star Wars Series Reportedly Uses Time Travel And Features Young Darth Vader

All eyes might be on Lucasfilm's third and final sequel trilogy installment, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but the Star Wars franchise also has a number of other developments, including a couple of television series meant for Disney's upcoming streaming site, Disney+.

Right now, Lucasfilm is working on a couple of confirmed series for the streaming platform. This includes The Mandalorian, a series being run by Iron Man director, Jon Favreau. Not much has been revealed about the project, except that it features a lone warrior living in the outer rim of Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away. The second series is a Rogue One spinoff centered around Diego Luna's Captain Cassian Andor and Alan Tudyk's K-2SO.

Now, according to We Got This Covered, a new rumor says that Lucasfilm is working on a brand new streaming project, one that would place a heavy emphasis on time travel. There isn't anyone to confirm the report just yet, but according to the site, industry insiders say that Lucasfilm is working on a new show featuring a slate of new characters who try to go back in time in order to change the outcome of key events in the Star Wars universe.

One of these key events is the arrival of Darth Vader. In one episode, we'll get to see this team of characters tries to kill a young version of the Sith Lord.

Time travel definitely makes for an interesting series. Star Wars Rebels tried to toy with the medium – it would be interesting to see another series explore it further.
