Warner Bros.has released the second trailer for Legend of Tarzan and it looks pretty awesome.
While previous Tarzan films featured human encroachment endangering the lives of the animals in the jungle, it looks like the new Tarzan movie’s approach is the other way around. In the latest Legend of Tarzan trailer, we see animals attacking the city, presumably of the bad guys. It also seems like Tarzan is leading the animal army.
David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter films, is directing the summer film, so I’m pretty excited with how the epic tale will unfold.
The movie stars Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood, Battleship) as the titular hero and Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad, Wolf of Wall Street) as Tarzan’s wife.

It appears that Skarsgård and Robbie are fitting for their roles. Not only does Skarsgård have the perfect abs for the iconic vine-swinging character, it looks like he has the seriousness and drama well-handled. Robbie’s gutsy Jane also looks interesting. Clearly, she’s not a damsel in distress despite being held captive. Since the two are already married in the trailer, it’s expected that there won’t be getting to know each other in the film.
There are some flaky CGI scenes in the trailer, but hopefully it will improve once the movie arrives this summer.
Other cast include Samuel L. Jackson as a U.S. Civil War vet who’s Tarzan’s ally, Christoph Waltz as Belgian warlord Captain Leon Rom, and Djimon Hounsou as a local African chief opposing Rom. Casper Crump and John Hurt also stars in the movie.
Legend of Tarzan Synopsis:
Tarzan, having acclimated to life in London, is called back to his former home in the jungle to investigate the activities at a mining encampment.
Legend of Tarzan hits theaters July 1.
