New Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Trailer Features Exciting Story, New Gameplay, Terra, and More

Square Enix and Disney have released a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue.

While the new trailer showcases familiar gameplay from HD updates, it also reveals a tease to the mysteries that will later be uncovered in the game.

The Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue begins with footageof Kingdom Hearts Dream, Drop, Distance HD showing a fresh HD update on the game.

Meanwhile, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2: A Fragmentary Passage, which continues the Birth by Sleep storyline, shows Aqua unable to escape the realm of darkness, and later discovering refuge in a castle only to find disappointment after a bridge leading to its gates collapses. The trailer then turns to gameplay, showing the same mechanics as in previous Kingdom Hearts 3 trailers, showing the Fragmentary Passage game having a potential link to KH3.

There’s also a moment where Aqua sees Terra moving closer to her right after she wishes for a sign of hope, which means his good side could prior to Master Xehanort controlling his body could still be in there.

The third part of the trailer shows some understanding of Kingdom Hearts X: Back Cover, the companion piece to Kingdom Hearts Unchained X for iOS. Fans will be able to explore in-depth the lore in the universes.

The trailer caps off with the “KeyBlade War,” as referenced in previous Kingdom Hearts titles.

Kingdom Hearts 2.8 hits shelves on December 2016.
