New IT Chapter Two Trailer Arrives Tomorrow, Teaser Poster Revealed

SDCC 2019 is a time for big reveals, and it looks like one of them will be for IT: Chapter Two. Just in, the official page has shared a new poster teasing the return of Pennywise, and we also get the announcement that a new trailer is dropping tomorrow.

Check it out:

What's interesting is, this poster confirms that the franchise will be ending after two films. The book was originally two parts, but seeing how movie franchises go, I was kind of expecting that they were planning to make IT a trilogy, with a third movie being based on the books.

If this movie ends up as a success though, I wouldn't be surprised if they WB found a way to keep the franchise going. My guess is that they would give us a Pennywise prequel. There's said to be a deleted scene from the first film where Pennywise forces a woman from the medieval times to feed him her child, and it was deemed too disturbing for the film. If we can get a franchise like SAW going, what are the odds they would up the ante for a solo film for Pennywise?

Of course, this is just speculation on my end. I think it's best if they just ended it here. I guess it's just what you can expect after all these reboots and spinoffs.

Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, "It Chapter Two" brings the characters—who've long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.

For now, we wait for IT: Chapter Two to hit theaters Sept. 6.
