New Infinity War Fan Theory Suggests That Doctor Strange Might Appear In Captain Marvel Movie

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War.

Avengers: Infinity War might be on the last few weeks of its theatrical run, but it looks like fans are still working out different theories that might help out the Earth's mightiest heroes after Thanos' massacre at the end of the film.

Now, a new fan theory actually connects Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to the arrival of Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) in the film's sequel, Avengers 4.

According to the Reddit User WamsyTheOneAndOnly, it's Doctor Strange's Eye of Agamotto that's going to bring the Sorcerer Supreme to Captain Marvel for a quick little cameo.

Though fans who've seen Avengers: Infinity War know that Doctor Strange becomes one the victims of Thanos finger-snapping massacre at the very end of the superhero crossover movie, the Redditor suggests that "Doctor Strange knows what happens in the future, he sets it up in fact."

The only one to see all the possible future events after the Avengers encounter with Thanos, Doctor Strange was the only one who "new that Thanos had to snap his fingers at that exact right time and under all these certain conditions for them to win."

Though some fans might feel the same way, the theory goes an entirely different direction. Instead of leaving things up to Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and the rest of the Avengers, this new speculative piece suggests that Doctor Strange is still traveling through time through the Eye of Agamotto.

"He's setting up Captain Marvel's return to Earth. I believe he'll appear in the CM movie and tell Fury it is vital for him to carry around with him the pager to contact Captain Marvel."

It's a pretty interesting theory, that's for sure. However, Cumberbatch hasn't been spotted on the set of Captain Marvel just yet. Of course, if the theory does end up to be true, then Marvel would do better to safeguard the surprise cameo.

For now, let's just wait and see what happens in Avengers 4.
