New Image from Aladdin Shows Off New Character

A lot of live-action remakes from Disney are going to be released this year, and one of them is Aladdin starring Will Smith. We don't have a full trailer for the movie yet, but we do have a new look at the new cast in costume.

This comes from The DisInsider's Skyler Shuler:

Besides new looks at familiar characters like Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie, we also have a great look at Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) without his hat. If you're curious about the woman next to Jasmine, she's actually a character named Dalia played by Nasim Pedrad. Dalia is an entirely new character created for the movie, and she's said to be one of Jasmine's handmaidens.

Why do I have a feeling that she's conspiring with Jafar to overthrow the Sultan? I don't see Iago in this film anywhere, and she is in the same position as Jafar in the poster, with both of them in red.

Speaking of Jafar, I'm also curious as to why they decided to make him more attractive in this film as compared to his middle-aged look in the original version. Is it magic? Does he need the lamp for eternal youth?

With the movie set to come out in May, I'm curious as to why Disney hasn't released a full trailer for this movie yet. if Solo: A Star Wars Story could teach us something, the marketing push definitely has something to do with the success of the movie. If they want people lining up for this film, they better start marketing it sooner rather than later.

Disney's live-action remake of Aladdin comes out May 24.
