New Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Trailer Shows Extended Look at The High Evolutionary

Last night during Super Bowl, Marvel Studios released the new trailer for the highly-anticipated film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The new preview gave us another look at the titular team's final adventure in its current iteration and under the supervision of director James Gunn, who is now busy as the co-chairman of DC Studios.

The new trailer also gave us an extended look at the main villain of the film, the High Evolutionary, a scientist who enhances several life forms into a "perfect species." He is played by Peacemaker star Chukwudi Iwuji, who also worked with Gunn in the series.

While he was briefly shown in the first trailer, the new one gave him more screen time as it finally gave us an idea of what his motives are, his role in Rocket Raccoon's life when he was young, and eventually a foe to the Guardians team.

Besides the extended look at the High Evolutionary, the new trailer also gave us another preview at Will Poulter's Adam Warlock as we saw him in a lot of action sequences and it seems that he will be the team's foe as well throughout the duration.

While the film will deal with dramatic themes since it's the team's final adventure in the MCU (as far as we know), it also reminded us that it will still have humorous moments as shown by the glimpses that they presented in the trailer such as the scenes with Star-Lord, Gamora, and Nebula.

The film's synopsis reads: "Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them."

The cast also includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Elizabeth Debicki, Maria Bakalova, and Sylvester Stallone.
