New Godzilla: King of Monsters Trailer Coming on Sunday

The week is promising us a lot of trailer drops from Captain Marvel to Spider-Man: Far from Home, and it looks like Legendary wants to end it with a bang with another preview for Godzilla: King of Monsters.

Director Mike Dougherty himself confirms on Twitter that we would be getting the new preview on Sunday:

Though we have no idea what to expect in the trailer, I'm guessing we're going to get full looks of the new Kaiju like Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah. Then again, I'm all up for keeping the mystery of the film until it actually comes out.

With a spectacle like this film, it's best not to put all the cinematic eggs in one basket.

SDCC 2018 was gearing up for Aquaman to be the biggest trailer released at the event, but everyone was completely caught off guard with the first preview for Godzilla: King of Monsters. Who knew that Clair de Lune by Debussy would be the best way to market a movie about giant monsters duking it out against one another.

My guess is that the song actually has some significance with the film itself. It's been said that the Monarch organization has been researching ways to try and ‘talk' to the Kaiju, and I'm guessing that music will be one of them. With Clair de Lune translating into "light of the moon," it's possible that it will be some kind of trigger to get Mothra on the human side.

Catch Godzilla: King of Monsters in theaters May 31, 2019.
