Fans are already looking forward to some major reunions in Game of Thrones Season 8. However, there is little doubt that the one meeting everyone is looking forward to would be the one between Jon Snow and his beloved little sister Arya Stark. Not surprisingly, the reunion has been revealed in the final season's new teaser.
The teaser opens with a shot of Jon Snow at the Godswood in Winterfell. Interestingly, it is revealed that he is not alone. The next shot shows that Arya Stark is standing behind him.
It's certainly not the reunion we are all looking forward to. People have been hoping that Jon and Arya would happily run into each others' arms when the King in the North finally gets home. After all, it has been a long time since they last saw each other.
Jon and Arya were last seen together in the second episode in the first season and their parting was truly an emotional one. In The Kingsroad, Jon went up to his little sister with a farewell present: the sword which she named Needle. "All the best swords have names, you know," Jon tells Arya. "Sansa can keep her sewing needles," she answers. "I've got a Needle of my own."
Although it looks like the reunion might be a tense one, there is still a huge possibility that things could get emotional pretty quickly. We're certainly hoping that all those years Jon and Arya spent apart will melt away when they finally see each other.
Of course, there is still a good reason why the reunion will be somehow chilly. Arya might not be a fan of Daenerys Targaryen, who is arriving with Jon. Nevertheless, these things can be put aside once the battle draws closer to Winterfell in Game of Thrones Season 8.
The final season of Game of Thrones will air on HBO on April 14.
