New Dragon Ball Ad Revives Long Lost Character in the Series

A lot of people have grown up to watch the first Dragon Ball anime. However, if you were able to watch the classic Dragon Ball Z anime, then you probably know who Raditz is.

Now after almost years of not seeing him in the series, we finally got to see Raditz in action again in an ad intended to promote the smartphone game released by Bandai-Namco, Dragon Ball Legends.

The ad features a live-action version of a similar farmer in the Dragon Ball anime holding a shotgun as he tried to get revenge against Raditz. He was shown with only a power level of 5 regardless of whether he had a weapon.

Raditz in the Dragon Ball Z universe is the biological brother of Kakarot (Son Goku). In the anime, he went to planet earth to bring Goku with him, but Goku refused. This started a conflict, and it got Goku’s son, Gohan, involved.

As of this writing, Raditz has not been revived in the latest anime installments of Dragon Ball. However, due to the spin-off series titled Dragon Ball Heroes, there could be a slight chance that we would be able to see him again. The creator of this hit series Akira Toriyama has expanded the Dragon Ball universe with sequels, specials, and spin-offs. So it would be fascinating if ever we get to see some of Goku’s old enemies again.

Toriyama created the Dragon Ball manga in 1984 and was released for the Weekly Shonen Jump until 1995. The 519 chapters were then compiled in 42 volumes by Shonen Jump’s publisher Shueisha. The entire series is based on Journey to the West, which is a classical 16th-century Chinese novel.

The series follows Son Goku from childhood to adulthood as he trains to become a great martial artist. Along the way, he meets new friends, becomes a father, and defeats countless foes, especially those who wanted to get the seven mystical orbs knowns as the Dragon Balls.
