New Details For Dragon Ball's Latest Saiyan Revealed

Last month, the new (villainous?) Saiyan character that will be introduced in the upcoming Dragon Ball Super film was revealed in Bandai Namco's upcoming mobile game but Toei Animation nor series creator Akira Toriyama have revealed any details about his character but thanks to a recent stream by Nico Nico and the help of translators, we have a few details about the new Saiyan character.

Just in case you're wondering, yes, just like the other Saiyan fighters, he's named after a vegetable.

According to fan translators online, the new Saiyan's name is "Shallot" (which is named after a type of onion). Translator Herms98 said that Shallot is the latest of the Saiyans named after a vegetable. Goku, a.k.a. Kakarot is named after a "carrot"; Vegeta, named after "vegetable", and so on.

According to Bandai, Shallot will be a playable figure in the upcoming Dragon Ball Legends game and the company revealed that his character hails from the distant past though we still don't know if Toriyama has any plans to bring the character to his TV series.

Dragon Ball Legends is expected to launch for iOS and Android this summer.

Dragon Ball Super is available for streaming on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami still airs the English dub of Dragon Ball Super on Adult Swim Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. It's also available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon. The upcoming Dragon Ball Super film will be released on December 14.
