New Deadpool 2 Promo Pokes Fun at Avengers: Infinity War

20th Century Fox

Avengers: Infinity War may be dominating the box office right now but Deadpool 2 is about to become the first blockbuster film to challenge it.

The latest TV spot for Deadpool 2 shows the international soccer team Manchester United receiving some official Deadpool merchandise.

"See, when you make a sequel you have to double-down on your promotions, or you just get buried by Infinity War," Deadpool says.

Deadpool's words also remind us of Deadpool 2's promotional overload. We've seen an overwhelming amount of TV spots, featurettes, and irrelevant promo clips released recently, and it looks like the highly-anticipated sequel has no signs of slowing down until the release of the new film this weekend.

Synopsis:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover.

Deadpool 2 also stars Jack Kesy as the film's primary villain, along with Julian Dennison, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Stefan Kapicic as the voice of Colossus, Shioli Kutsuna, Terry Crews, and Bill Skarsgard.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters May 18.
