New Cowboy Bebop Comic Released After Netflix Show Cancellation

It's a sad fact that the live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop has been cancelled and it looks like there is no chance that it would ever be rescued. However, that doesn't mean we've seen the last of Spike Spiegel and the rest of the Bebop crew. The comic book series based on the show has just dropped its first issue!

There is little doubt that the Cowboy Bebop series received a lot of backlash in the past but the show had its own distinct style and look. This is reflected in the comic book series that will continue to follow the Bebop crew.

The Cowboy Bebop comics got its own awesome trailer along with the first issue's release. Check it out below.

Cowboy Bebop #1 is penned by DC comics veteran Dan Watters and illustrated by Lamar Mathurin. The synopsis for the first issue reads as follows:

"An original story set in the year 2171. The bounty hunter crew of the spaceship Bebop chase an ex-gang member who holds a vest which gives the wearer unlimited luck."

This certainly sounds like the kind of thing that Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, and Faye Valentine would be doing if their adventures were to continue in the live-action series. Although we won't get to see it in the Netflix show, fans can still read about in in the comics.
