New Concept Art for Baron Zemo Features the Classic Loose Mask

While Helmut Zemo never really got to wear a comic-accurate mask in Captain America: Civil War, they are giving him the look in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. While the iteration is considered one of the more popular incarnations of Zemo, he originally debuted with a looser, rag-like mask. What's interesting is, concept artist Randy Park has given us a look at some concept art inspired by Zemo's first appearance.

What's great is, he still found a way to put the fur around the collar; I'm not too sure about that body armor though. Seeing as Zemo is more about mind games in the film, it wouldn't make sense for him to be geared up like a soldier.

I have to say, I like this interpretation of the mask more than the classic skin-tight look. I mean, if you weren't too well-versed in comics, you can almost say Zemo was just a purple Deadpool or Spider-Man. I like the distinctiveness that the old mask gives. Hopefully, they find some kind of way to pay homage to it in a future film/series.

We don't know exactly what Marvel plans to do with Zemo in the future, but he is set to be the main antagonist of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Maybe he can end up running the new HYDRA, but I'm hoping Marvel Studios has come up with something more compelling. With the TV shows promising to be more experimental, I would love for the films to have something more relevant to say.

No release date has been set for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but fans are hoping it hits Disney+ sometime later this year.
