New BTS Shots from the Avatar Sequels Tease Underwater Sequences

Avengers: Endgame may be the highest-grossing film of all time now, but James Cameron is ready to claim back the title with his Avatar sequels. The movie is set to come out next year, and though we haven't gotten any trailers, we do have these new photos of the cast doing their work in the water.

Check them out:

While we don't have an official plot for the film yet, it has been confirmed that the sequels will take place primarily in the underwater world of Pandora. With the original film having emphasis on the Na'Vi and their affinity for the sky and flight, we're going to be delving into a whole new world with the children of Jake Sully and Neytiri.

What's odd though, is that the movie will be bringing back some old faces from the film like Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang. We don't know what their role in the movie is yet, but I assume it will have something to do with flashbacks, seeing as the characters died in the original film.

We have no idea when we're going to get our first look at the Avatar sequels, but I can only imagine that James Cameron has one hell of a spectacle planned, seeing as he's been working on these films for years. With a December 2021 release date, I assume we could get our first teaser sometime early 2021. Maybe it could even drop this Christmas; but I'm just guessing.

The first Avatar sequel is set to come out on Dec. 17, 2021.
