It goes without saying that the MandoVerse has long proven that it can stand on its own. However, I think we can all agree that Luke Skywalker's brief appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett have also been quite beneficial for the franchise.

The Jedi Master continues to be an integral part of the Star Wars universe all thanks to Mark Hamill, whose MandoVerse cameos were made possible with the help of his body doubles and a little CGI magic.

In The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm enlisted Max Lloyd-Jones to serve as Hamill's body double and although it remains one of the best Star Wars moments in recent memory, the VFX work on "Chapter 16: The Rescue" was a little too dodgy for fans to full appreciate.

He was later replaced by Graham Hamilton who pulled Luke's duties for The Book of Boba Fett and not only was the VFX improved, the stand-in actor seemed like the right fit.

Speaking of Hamilton, newly-released images from The Book of Boba Fett have surfaced online and his resemblance to Hamill is too uncanny to ignore. If anything, they prove the franchise no longer needs Hamill's help to bring Luke back to life in live-action. Check out the photos here:

Now, it remains to be seen if Luke still has unfinished business to settle in the MandoVerse but should Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni feel the need to bring him back, I think we can all agree that Hamilton is the perfect guy for the job and it would save them a ton of money on VFX alone.

Meanwhile, the first season of The Book of Boba Fett is available to stream on Disney+.
