There is little doubt that American Gods has an amazing cast of truly unique characters, so much so that it's hard to pick a favorite. Nevertheless, the producers know where your heart is truly set. The new teaser for Season 2 focuses on Mad Sweeney's different faces including that of a rabid Celtic warrior.
The new teaser was shared by the official American Gods Twitter account run by Amazon Prime. It shows the different sides of Pablo Schreiber's character and a better look at his incarnation as a warrior that we first saw in the American Gods Season 2 trailer. Check out the post below.
Mad Sweeney has truly been a delight throughout the first season of the series. Although the character was killed off rather early in Neil Gaiman's novel, he has turned into a truly important part of the main storyline in the show. There is little doubt that we'll see more of Mad Sweeney in the second season and we are truly looking forward to the awesome leprechaun playing a major role in the show's developing plot.
The synopsis for American Gods Season 2 reads as follows:
"The battle between Old Gods and New Gods continues to brew as we join Mr. Wednesday just a few short hours after his declaration of war and the epic showdown that ensued at Easter's party. While Mr. World plans revenge for Wednesday's attack and Technical Boy searches for Media, Mr. Wednesday continues his quest to pitch the case for war to the Old Gods with Shadow.
"Laura and Mad Sweeney in tow, Shadow begins to understand this strange world of the gods and carve out a place in it as a believer, but it is far from a straight path. Change requires sacrifice, and when things don't go as planned at the House on the Rock, both Old and New Gods, and those they meet along the way, find themselves on journeys across America — all destined for a climactic showdown in Cairo, Illinois."
American Gods Season 2 will air on Starz on March 10.
