New Ahsoka Trailer Seems to Dismiss Speculation About Anakin Appearing as a Force Ghost

A year after his much-talked-about return in Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen's Star Wars renaissance continues and this time, it will happen in the MandoVerse.

The prequel trilogy star is set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming Ahsoka series and while Lucasfilm has kept mum all this time about his involvement in the show, its latest trailer pretty much confirms that the "chosen one" will play a pivotal role in the project.

One week before Ahsoka's premiere, Lucasfilm released a brand-new trailer featuring Christensen who is warning a young Ahsoka Tano about the threats she will face that are "more than just droids".

He says: "In this war, you’ll face more than just droids. As your master, it is my responsibility to prepare you… Don’t be afraid. You can do this, Ahsoka." Check out the teaser here:

Now, this seems to imply that Anakin will only appear in flashback sequences set during the Clone Wars. Of course, the possibility of him showing up as a Force Ghost later in the series isn't out of the question but it makes total sense for Anakin to be involved in scenes that feature Ahsoka during her days as a Jedi padawan.

After all, there have been persistent rumors that the show cast an actress who will play a younger version of Ahsoka Tano. Whether or not we'll see Force Ghost Ani share a moment with Ahsoka remains to be seen but let's be honest, Lucasfilm would be foolish not to pull the trigger.

Ahsoka will be having a double-episode premiere on August 23rd. Stream the MandoVerse spinoff series on Disney+!
