Netflix’s The Adam Project will have Mark Ruffalo Play Ryan Reynolds’ Father

Director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds have teamed up for a film called Free Guy which is set to come out this December, and though the movie is still well away from release, the two have already started working on their next film for Netflix. What's interesting is, they've managed to nab a Marvel star to play opposite Reynolds.

According to THR, Mark Ruffalo has been cast in The Adam Project, a film where Reynolds plays a man who travels back in time to contact his 13-year-old self so they can team up to save their late father (Ruffalo). The cast also includes the likes of Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy), Jennifer Garner (Alias), and Catherine Keener (Get Out) who is said to be playing the main villain of the movie.

If you've followed Levy's filmography, you'll know that he has a penchant for family-friendly flicks, from Night at the Museum to Netflix's smash hit, Stranger Things. The Adam Project seems to be in the same vein as the rest of Levy's movies, and while we should expect some time-traveling hijinks, I think we're also going to get some tender father-son bonding moments from Reynolds and Ruffalo.

While no release date has been set for The Adam Project, the fact that cameras have already started rolling last week could mean that the movie is aiming for a late 2021 release. In the meantime, you can check out Levy's Free Guy starring Ryan Reynolds which comes out on December 10, 2020.
