Netflix's Resident Evil Series Synopsis Reportedly Revealed

We already know that Netflix is developing a new horror series based on Resident Evil. But what can we expect in the new show? The details about the series have just been leaked and it teases on a possible prequel.

The information was posted on Netflix's official Media Center page although it was immediately removed. Nevertheless, people were quick to pick up on the details, which features the possible synopsis for the new Resident Evil series.

The synopsis for the show reads as follows:

"The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths – the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington, D.C. Today, twenty-six years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three will start to be revealed at the first signs of outbreak," it reads.

Unfortunately, we don't know about the characters that will be featured in the series or if they will be in any way connected to the ones that appeared in Capcom game. For now, it looks like the show will focus on completely new characters who live in Clearfield and will have to deal with the effects of the T-Virus. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The first Resident Evil game was released by Capcom in 1996 and has since turned into a major multimedia franchise that includes live-action and animated films. The most recent movie Resident Evil: The Final Chapter was released in 2016 and featured Milla Jovovich as Alice, a protagonist who has never appeared in the video games.
